Master bedroom window wall framedHeather and I got to check out the view from the upstairs today! We showed up on site between when the crew left and dark. The view from the second floor is excellent! You can see our neighbor’s fence on the east side, but not their house. You can see cars when they drive by, but not the street, the view of the rock walls is lovely and the view down towards the forested section of property is great, just as John predicted!

The crew had been at work on a couple tasks. The little one was putting up the cross-bracing and firing on the first floor ceiling. The big one? Upstairs walls! They’re not in place, but the window wall for the master bedroom is framed (see photo) as is the western end wall. They started on the bathroom/2nd bedroom wall as well.

Plans for the master bedroom wallThe master bedroom window is the crazy one. You can see size of the window from the plans. It’s a bit over 12 feet wide and the half-round will make it the focal point of the exterior of the house. How long ’til the roof is on and the windows in place? 2 weeks? A bit more? We can’t wait!
